The Electric Linear Clamp with Electric Tipping Unit (ELC-ETU) is developed for safe and stable handling of cylindrical loads such as drums, barrels, and rolls, where controlled tipping and e.g. emptying is required.

The system features a fully electric solution where both clamping and tipping functions are powered and controlled via remote control. This allows the operator to control the entire handling process safely from a distance, which is especially beneficial in situations with limited space around the lifting area. 

The electric system significantly reduces physical strain on the operator, making the ELC-ETU particularly suitable for very heavy loads where manual tipping would be demanding or unsafe.

By combining precise electric clamping with controlled remote-operated tipping, the system ensures smooth, stable, and efficient load handling with a high level of safety and repeatability.

System Configuration - Two Integrated Units

The ELC-ETU consists of two components operating in tandem:

Electric Linear Clamp (ELC)

The Electric Linear Clamp (ELC) delivers precise, powered clamping for cylindrical loads such as drums, barrels, and rolls. Its modular design supports various lifting arms and grippers, and it can be combined with tipping or rotation units.

Driven by an electric motor with a self-locking worm gear, the ELC ensures smooth carriage movement and consistent clamping force. An electronic overload sensor stops operation automatically if the maximum force is reached, while a remote control allows safe operation from a distance. The system maintains a firm, reliable grip throughout lifting, reducing operator effort and enhancing load stability.

Electric Tipping Unit (ETU)

The Electric Tipping Unit (ETU) is a fully electric solution for controlled and precise tipping of loads secured by an attached lifting tool. It is designed for use with a Manual Linear Clamp (MLC) or an Electric Linear Clamp (ELC, or other compatible lifting tools for handling drums, barrels, rolls, and similar cylindrical loads.
Operation is performed entirely via remote control, allowing the operator to control load tipping safely and accurately from a distance. This makes the ETU particularly suitable for applications where there is limited space around the lifting area, or where it is not possible for the operator to stand next to the equipment during operation.
The ETU is also ideal for very heavy loads, reducing operator strain while ensuring stable, controlled and repeatable rotation.
At the core of the system is an electric motor-driven, self-locking worm gear mechanism that enables smooth and controlled tipping of the load. The self-locking function ensures that the load remains securely in position when movement is stopped, providing stable handling throughout the entire operation.
