Safe and Controlled Manual Tipping of Rolls, Drums and Barrels

The Electric Linear Clamp with Manual Tipping Unit (ELC-MTU) is designed for secure lifting, stable gripping, and controlled forward tilting of cylindrical and similar loads such as drums, barrels, and rolls. These are often applications where containers need to be safely emptied.

The electrically driven clamping system reduces manual effort and physical strain for the operator, while the manual tipping function ensures precise control during the emptying process. This combination makes the system well-suited for applications where safe handling, reduced operator load, and accurate, gradual tipping are required.

System Configuration - Two Integrated Units

The ELC-MTU consists of two components operating in tandem:

• Electric Linear Clamp (ELC)
  
• Manual Tipping Unit (MTU)

Electric Linear Clamp (MLC)

The Electric Linear Clamp (ELC) delivers precise, powered clamping for cylindrical loads such as drums, barrels, and rolls. Its modular design supports various lifting arms and grippers, and it can be combined with tipping or rotation units.

Driven by an electric motor with a self-locking worm gear, the ELC ensures smooth carriage movement and consistent clamping force. An electronic overload sensor stops operation automatically if the maximum force is reached, while a remote control allows safe operation from a distance. The system maintains a firm, reliable grip throughout lifting, reducing operator effort and enhancing load stability.

Manual Tipping Unit (MTU)

The Manual Tipping Unit (MTU) is designed for controlled manual forward tipping and rotation of loads held by an attached lifting tool. It is typically used in combination with a Manual Linear Clamp (MLC) or an Electric Linear Clamp (ELC) for handling drums, barrels, rolls, and similar loads.

On the outside, the MTU features a housing with a wheel and handle. Inside the housing, a self-locking worm gear system is integrated. The gear is driven by manual operation of the handle and enables controlled forward tipping of the load.

The self-locking function maintains load position when rotation is stopped, ensuring stable handling throughout the operation. Rotation is performed around the main axle of the unit.
