CA – Crane Arm:
Customisable Cranes Lift Tool for Tough Loads and Tight Spaces

Recognise this?

There’s no real room to work, but the lifting job still needs doing!

Or maybe, there's nowhere to properly grab hold of the load, but it still needs to be moved?

If so, you're not alone.

Cluttered industrial warehouse with narrow aisles and machines, tables, and equipment everywhere. In the middle of the picture, a customised cranes lift with short legs and a long crane arm with a chain still manages to fit in.

In fact, if your workspace feels more like a maze than a workshop - with machines, walls, corners, and equipment leaving barely enough room to breathe - you’re facing challenges many others share. Add to that a load that’s nowhere near square, with handles in the wrong places (or none at all), and suddenly even a basic lift turns into a logistical headache.

Instead of battling for space, a cranes lift lets you reach over obstacles, navigate around tight corners, and position your load exactly where it needs to go - without needing a warehouse-sized floor plan to do it. Whether you're lifting a bulky filter unit, an awkward machine part, or something that simply refuses to fit into neat shapes - there’s a way to get it done.

The crane arm gives you the handling control and adaptability you need. And with a wide range of grabbing options - like hooks, carabiners, or custom grippers - it’s easy to match the tool to the task. Even the most uncooperative loads become manageable.

And when you need even more flexibility - like swinging a load sideways into a tight assembly space or navigating it gently into position without disturbing nearby equipment - you can take things a step further.

Close-up photo showing how the swing unit (SU) is mounted between the minilift and the crane arm.

That’s where our swing unit (SU) comes into the picture. The SU is a clever, mechanical add‑on installed between the lifter and your crane arm, acting like a pivot point on a hinge. With a simple hand motion, you can glide the load smoothly left or right - no electronics, no hassle, just intuitive control.

Want to lock it in place? Just push the pin, and your load stays precisely where you need it. Both the swing range and stability are easily adjustable using built-in knobs, so you stay in control even in the trickiest workspaces.

In other words, by pairing a crane arm with an SU, you're creating a lifting duo that’s agile, precise, and perfectly suited to tight, cluttered environments where controlled side-to-side movement makes all the difference.

Custom Is the New Standard:
- Why One Cranes Lift Doesn’t Fit All

No two loads are alike. Some are too long, too wide, too fragile - or just plain awkward. Others sit in hard-to-reach places or need to be picked up in a very specific way. That’s why no cranes lift should be one-size-fits-all.

Luckily, it doesn’t have to be.

Every part of your lifting solution can be adapted to fit the job - starting with the crane arm itself. Need extra reach to get around machinery or across workstations? Go longer. Working in tight quarters? Choose a more compact version. Dealing with extreme angles or tricky approach paths? There’s a custom build for that too.

Photo series of crane lifters in different shapes and sizes. Some lifters have short legs, others have long ones. Some have counterweights, others don’t. Some lifting columns are tall, others are short. Some crane arms are long, others are short.

And when it comes to grabbing the load, you’re not limited to just a hook. Carabiners, clamps, hooks, custom grippers, even magnetic or vacuum tools - there’s a tool for almost any type of object, surface, or lifting challenge. Whether you’re moving bags, bins, boxes, barrels, filters, lids, machine parts or something uniquely yours, the right attachment will make all the difference.

Some loads require two crane arms working together - essentially a fork disguised as two separate crane arms - each equipped with its own specialised attachment. Whether you're handling long, flexible items or heavy components that need support at multiple points, this setup offers the stability and control a single arm simply can’t provide.

Special crane lifter solution: a customised crane arm with two attachment points at different heights for the gripper, allowing access to shelves at various heights.

So whether you’re moving bags, bins, boxes, barrels or something completely different, the right combination of crane arms and attachments can turn an impossible lift into a smooth operation.

In fact, many of the most effective crane arms we’ve built didn’t start with a product - but with a problem. A tricky load. An impossible corner. A customer who’d tried everything else. Together, we designed a solution that worked.

For instance, one customer required a special solution that enabled him to lift equipment from shelves at various heights.

The solution shown on the right - a crane arm with two attachment points at different heights for the gripper - allowed him to do exactly that. All he had to do was move the gripper itself from one attachement point to the other depending on the height he needed to lift from.

When your lifting tool is tailored to your workspace, your load, and your way of working, that’s when a cranes lift truly proves its worth.

Modular Thinking for Modern Lifting
- Quick Swaps, Big Flexibility

Modular lifting solutions for extra flexibility and versatility. Lightweight lifter with rapid tool change application. Man is attaching a crane arm to the lifting apparatus.

Some days, the lifting tasks may be straightforward and consistent. Other days, the workload may shift - different shapes, sizes, and handling requirements. No matter what the day brings, modularity gives you the flexibility to adapt quickly and easily.

This crane arm is designed to work as part of a modular lifting system. That means you can swap it out with other tools in just moments - no complicated adjustments, no extra hassle. Need to lift a roll? Attach an electric expander, a V-block or a mandrel. Working with pallets? Switch to a fork. Boxes or containers? A flat platform will probably do the job.

With one lifter and a range of interchangeable tools, you're ready for a variety of lifting scenarios - all with the same core equipment. It’s a practical, streamlined way to keep your operation efficient without investing in multiple machines.

Modularity isn’t just about versatility - it’s about being ready for whatever task comes next, whether it’s the same as yesterday or something entirely new.

How Exactly Does the Crane Arm Work?

Overview of the crane arm component featuring an eye for securing a chain.

The crane arm is designed to lift loads suspended in a chain, wire or strap. The connection to the load can be as simple as a hook or karabiner, however more complicated grippers can be fitted when loads are not equipped with an eyelet.

Like most of our lifting tools, the dimensions of the crane arm can easily be modified to fit customer needs. This can for instance allow for more compact designs, extra reach or a height offset.

Features

  • Easy customisation: dimensions can be modified to customer specifications.
  • Rugged construction for industrial use. With its all-stainless steel construction, the CA is built to last and for use in demanding industrial environments.
  • Available in hygienic design for use in cleanrooms and the food/beverage industry.
This material handling crane is built from the principles of modularity meaning that parts are easily interchangeable. Also easily customisable. From the back, picture 2.
